Advertised Summary Job Description: The Business Intelligence Analyst position is responsible for working with the Associate Director of Financial Analysis & Reporting to transform the organization from a data intensive organization to data intelligent organization, improving how information and reporting guide management decisions. The analyst will build relationships with team leadership and partners across the organization to identify high impact areas for reporting and analysis, and implement analytical and reporting solutions that accelerate data-driven decision-making. Working with senior leadership in the school and Departments, the analyst will play an important role in the following activities: interpreting and analyzing complicated large-scale data sets from disparate systems, mapping business processes to identify improvement opportunities, developing metrics and dashboards, designing and building prototypes for new reports and analytic tools, and developing the communications to socialize, refine, and gain acceptance of recommendations, as well as monitor results.
Under supervision of the Associate Director of Financial Analysis & Reporting, the analyst will: -Build analytic tools and reporting solutions that facilitate data-driven decision making; -Use programing methods suitable to the particular business need ? employing tools like R, Python, SAS, VBA, SQL, and PowerBI to implement fast, stable, user-driven solutions; -Support the design of metrics and measurement programs to define success for an initiative, business plan or Department; -Participate in brainstorming new processes, reports and analytics with owners across various teams; -Support the design of implementation roadmaps, including clear milestones, work streams, and owners; -Leverage a data-driven approach to problem solving; -Design and execute software testing to ensure data quality and accuracy of analytics and reporting solutions.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus two years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Windows, PowerPoint and data applications required.
Preferred Qualifications: -MBA, MHA, MPA preferred; -Experience in data/ finance focused positions preferred; -Experience in R, Python or SAS strongly preferred; -Experience with SQL and exposure to data visualization tools (PowerBI, Cognos, Tableau) desired; -Demonstrated experience solving complex, ambiguous, and analytically challenging problems; -Excellent process management and planning skills; -Strong oral and written communication; demonstrated ability to communicate in a structured, precise and compelling manner; -Comfortable with independently managing work priorities in a dynamic environment; -Healthcare and University experience preferred.
