Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEThe HR Operations and Data Specialist provides support for all functional activities related to Human Resource (HR) business systems, Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) Data, Business Intelligence, Reporting and Compliance. Responsible for real-time, up-to-date, and accurate HR data and reporting. Supports the implementation and improvement of HR business systems and processes. Investigates and resolves system problems, finding ways to increase overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Decision Support & Technology department activities. This position reports to the Director, HR Data & Technology.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Create, maintain, and ensure quality assurance of key HR data sets and reports. Perform an investigation and root cause analysis relative to Quality Assurance (QA) issues.Work with the Director, HR Data & Technology to establish HR data standards. Promote data consistency, accuracy, and completeness with articulated data standards. Maintain data quality through regular assessment and improvement through enrichment, cleansing and standardization. Escalate potential issues and risks to the Director.Monitor the utilization of HR business systems and workflows to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines, and adherence to university policy. Perform updates as directed and as necessary, including deletion, addition and modification of records. Provide support in the implementation and improvement of business processes, workflows and systems. Compile and review data reports related to HR business systems and data entry activities for quality assurance and compliance. Provide HR system support, troubleshoot as needed. Represent Director and participate in project teams, user groups, and task forces as necessary. Serve as an administrator relative to the training of end users in the utilization of HR business systems. Prepare and maintain training documentation and materials. Interface and provide support to end user to resolve HR transactional processing problems and respond to questions and concerns.Assist in the maintenance of HR divisional enterprise systems security. Work closely with Computing & Information Technology and Business Technology Solutions to ensure appropriate security levels are applied and de-provisioned. Assist with periodic HR unit security access audits.Respond to subpoena and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests timely. Provide requested documentation which may include employee personnel files, benefits/medical documentation and payroll documentation within established deadlines. Work directly with departments and consults with General Counsel for guidance when needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human resource management or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Experience: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)Experience in a human resources function including HR systems. Some knowledge of University policies and procedures preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers and technical staff. Previous experience with Human Resources Management Systems and Business Intelligence Reporting preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESTECHNICAL SKILLS ? Ability to compile statistical data.
