The EBI Developer I_Epic Reporting & Analytics provides information to operational staff and leadership to make data-driven decisions that contribute to a positive impact on patient care. The EBI Developer I_Epic Reporting & Analytics efficiently gathers report requirements and makes specification recommendations while understanding how the outcomes will impact the business. The EBI Developer I_Epic Reporting & Analytics converts business requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions and implements solutions based on data availability, environment, user, situation, and logistics. The EBI Developer I_Epic Reporting & Analytics supports existing customer reports, dashboards, cubes, etc as well as verification and reconciliation of data. The EBI Developer I for Epic Reporting & Analytics will also have the following responsibilities including but not limited to:
Builds Epic analytics assets including reports, cubes, dashboards, and self-service reporting capabilities to solve the BI needs of the operational customers.
Writes complex SQL queries/extracts to pull data from various data sources (Clarity, Caboodle, etc.) for reporting.
Delivers data/reporting/analytics through utilization of multiple BI/reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, WebI/Universes, SSAS, SSIS, Epic SlicerDicer, Registries, predictive models/cognitive computing, etc.
Creates ad hoc SQL queries to review data, determine requirements, and resolve data errors.
Optimizes queries to decrease report run times
The ideal EBI Developer I_Epic Reporting & Analytics holds a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience combined with a minimum of 1 year of relevant, applicable experience. The ideal EBI Developer I_Epic Reporting & Analytics candidate for this position has a clinical, operations, patient access and/or revenue cycle background, strong analytical abilities and a passion for improving the healthcare industry though technology. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to providing quality results and will have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse group of professionals and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities including, but not limited to:
Experience working with data analysis, data profiling, report writing/development, dashboard and/or Business Intelligence toolsets
Ability to communicate effectively with the key business users before, during, and after the development of analytical tools to ensure adequate requirements gathering, development progress, user acceptance and business process integration.
Experience working with quality initiatives such as Meaningful Use, Population Health, HEDIS and Core Measures.
Aptitude to handle multiple tasks, projects and issues at the same time.
Capability to operate both independently and within a team.
Must have at least 1 year of experience in development using data analysis, ETL and/or BI tools
Must have at least 1 year of experience in database development, using SQL and PL/SQL, with in-depth knowledge of analytical functions
Experience with SDLC a must, exposure to Agile/SCRUM practices is ideal
Must possess excellent documentation and communication skills
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server as well as enterprise BI reporting tools (SAP Business Objects, Microsoft SSRS) preferred

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
A minimum of 1 year of applicable, relevant experience in development using data analysis, ETL and/or BI tools and 1 year of experience in database development using SQL and PL/SQL
Experience with the following preferred
Microsoft SQL Server and Enterprise BI tools such as SAP Business Objects and SSRS
Epic Cogito and/or Clarity data model certification (any data model)
Experience with Clarity and Caboodle databases as well as the SlicerDicer reporting toolset.
