The Lead Database Administrator is responsible for database and middleware software, assuring that all security, auditing, and restart/recovery functions are properly operating. Provide capacity planning information and monitor performance and ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.Identify areas where improvements are desirable and suggest improvements. Provide assistance and training to other database administrators and other technical staff. Evaluate vendor-supplied software and make buy/build recommendations, including cloud solutions. Resolve particularly complex or critical technical problems.Function as a project manager as required.
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent experience.
5 â“ 10 years of experience with Oracle database administration, SQL Server and MySQL also desired.
Experience with Business Intelligence Product administration, Cognos preferred.
Database Administration experience in High Education Research a plus.
Experience with ERP implementations product suites.
Conceptual knowledge of all and in-depth knowledge of some of the following: technical architectures, configuration management, SDLC, operating systems, and database systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written).
Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize activities.
Project management skills desired.
