TheProgram Coordinator provides administrative support to the Assistant Dean forStudent Affairs and the Director of Alumni Relations. Duties include, butare not limited to, researching and maintaining a contact database, planningand managing various student and alumni events, coordinating multiplenewsletters, and overseeing various assigned events/tasks. Thisposition requires daily interaction with current students and alumni, andfaculty and staff across the University. Excellent writing andcommunication skills are required. Strong organizational skillsnecessary, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage workloadto meet specific timeframes and deadlines with minimal direction.
About the Work Unit:
The Officeof Student Affairs is the administrative link between all students enrolled atVUSN and faculty/staff at the school. The department oversees NewStudent Orientation, Commencement, 3 Pinning ceremonies, Licensureregistration, and the Graduate Student Council. The Alumni Office isthe formal link between the School of Nursing and its graduates. Itstrives to keep all alumni connected with VUSN through communications, events,and assistance in searching for job openings. The office works witha volunteer alumni board and interacts with the University's alumni relationsoffices to craft effective means to reach its constituents.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:
Office of Student Affairs:
Ability to use the Vanderbilt Student Records System (YES) and Oracle Business Intelligence Database.
Assist with the planning and management of three New Student Orientations
Handling details of registering students for the RN Licensing Exam;
Coordinating composite photography for MSN and DNP students.
Complete oversight of the School of Nursing Investiture of the Academic Hood Program.
Complete office administrative duties including managing three financial budgets for the Office of Student Affairs
Administrative and budgetary support for the VUSN Graduate Student Council.
Weekly online newsletter for students, faculty and staff.
Office of Alumni Relations:
Assist the Alumni Director in maintaining current and accurate contact information for 10,000+ alumni particularly that of graduating students as they transition into alumni status.
Assist with the planning and execution of the VUSN Alumni Reunion each October and occasional functions of the alumni board.
Scan social media for additional data for the database.
Help with projects such as quarterly newsletter to alumni, welcome emails to new graduates and updating records as people make life/career changes.
Quarterly online newsletter for Alumni.
Provide administrative support for annual reunion.
Managing the financial budget for the Office of Alumni Relations.
Profile of an IdealCandidate
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Proven experience in prioritizing and multi-tasking is necessary.
Skill in working with an online budgeting process is necessary.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate as a member of a team, while maintaining independence is necessary.
Proven commitment to accuracy and thoroughness is necessary.
General working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite is necessary.
Demonstrated experience in database management is necessary.
Ability to search social media and the internet for information is necessary.
Knowledge of Vanderbilt University policies and procedures is strongly preferred
Knowledge of MailChimp and Oracle is preferred
