Business Intelligence Team Summary: The Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD) Business Intelligence team collaborates with business departments across the University to identify and implement business intelligence solutions that support the alumni affairs and development business initiatives through data-driven decision making. The team is also responsible for adhoc data analysis, trending, and predictive modeling used throughout central AAD. The team delivers customer focused service in the areas of business requirements/solutions development, business intelligence, project management and implementation, education, and end user support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides analysis of fundraising performance and cash received to generate financial projections for use by School finance offices in Harvard's multi-year financial planning process
Acts as a point person for school development and finance office questions regarding their gift data and totals
Works with the Data Analytics Manager to create in depth analyses that inform critical strategic issues facing Senior Leadership, particularly focused on pledge fulfillment and current use fund performance
Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses on a variety of topics common to higher education & fundraising
Designs, develops & augments existing dashboards to meet needs identified through interactions with business partners
Writes narrative companions to visual analyses, bringing an understanding of context and reasoning to recipients of information
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business data and systems within the context of end user needs, and make recommendations to improve processes and define best practices.
Complies with defined team standards for project tracking, testing, delivery, documentation & version control.
Other ad-hoc requests and projects as determined by the Data Analytics Manager

Graduate from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a fundraising environment. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in data mining or reporting, or alternatively, demonstrated proficiency in SQL & database querying.
Experience with QlikView, and prior work in Advancement/Fundraising finance reporting preferred.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment. Requires superb organizational skills.
Communicates complex concepts effectively with technical staff and non-technical staff.
Ability to execute multiple concurrent projects to deliver on frequent deadlines that impact the work of other groups.
Demonstrates aptitude to learn quickly and leverage complex querying to extract and organize data.
Demonstrates willingness to change and adapts quickly to shifting priorities or requirements.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be conscious of data security and risk management.
