In this high-impact role, the Director, Supply Chain Planning reporting to the EVP, Supply Chain, is responsible for all Supply Chain planning activities and is a key leader on the Supply Chain Leadership Team. The Director, Supply Chain Planning is responsible for leading demand planning, capacity and supply planning, network optimization and S&OP/IBP.
The Director, Supply Chain Planning is a principal architect with mastery in developing and implementing supply chain planning strategies, processes, organizations and tools. The Director, Supply Chain Planning is an inspiring and courageous leader, an organizational builder, who possesses exceptional business acumen and a strong ability to influence and lead.
What You Will Bring:
Lead the development and optimization of the supply chain network through detailed landed cost analysis and service strategy
Lead the development of strategies and tactics to optimize customer service & cost to serve
Drive an independent demand perspective that's provokes deep business understanding, aligns the organization and helps drive demand shaping tactics and business performance
Lead the S&OP process, collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Finance to assure alignment of demand and supply plans, and lead executive S&OP
Pro-actively engage key customers, in conjunction with Sales and Customer Service and Integrated Logistics (CSIL), to optimize forecasting and service
Lead the development and optimization of short and long-term capacity plans.
Develop distribution resource plans (DRP), warehousing, inventory and working capital forecasts and plans
Lead supply reviews to align plans, manage supply and service risks, and resolve any supply and demand imbalances
Ensure effective translation of supply plans to master production plans
Regularly update and collaborate with CSIL on issues related to: out of stocks, service issues, supplier issues, inventory metrics, and other related issues.
Develop, implement and maintain an appropriate IT systems toolkit, including master data, to ensure consistent delivery of objectives
Directly responsible for the development, measurement and continuous improvement of; forecast error and bias, inventory/working capital, customer service, and distressed, aging and obsolete inventory
Extensive knowledge and experience in supply chain planning strategies, techniques, processes and systems
Extensive knowledge and experience in supply chain, operations and logistics with an understanding of total supply chain management
Excellent team leadership and organizational development skills, especially in highly technical organization
Outstanding business acumen w/a comprehensive knowledge of CPG market dynamics.
Excellent cross-functional leadership, influencing and collaboration skills
Excellent communication skills and executive presence
Action orientation and proven ability to achieve results
Strong computer literacy and excellent working knowledge of value chain planning software, business intelligence systems and Excel
BS/BA in related discipline such as Engineering, Operations/Supply Chain Mgmt required
APICS or IBF certification preferred
Minimum 10 years' experience in CPG with significant and progressive experience in supply planning, demand planning and S&OP
Manage a team of 15-20 resources
Limited travel required; 2-4 out of state trips per year
