Advertised Summary Job Description: The Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) Office of Development is dedicated to facilitating relationships that support the vision and mission of CUIMC and the College of Physicians and Surgeons: to advance medical education, achieve scientific breakthroughs, and provide the best possible patient care across a range of specialized departments, centers and programs.
The Development office of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) is looking for a highly motivated individual to work with the Business Intelligence Team. The Reporting Analyst applicant will create reports and dashboards working with the Office of Development fundraising database and a HIPAA compliant patient database, and assist in training department staff in knowledge and use of various data tools. The incumbent will report to the Director of Business Intelligence & Reporting and work with a Reporting Analyst, Major Gift Officers and other members of the fundraising team to review reporting priorities, manage and coordinate reporting projects, and streamline delivery of reporting data.
The Reporting Analyst will be responsible for creating and distributing the department's monthly reports using Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal reports, SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools. The incumbent will ensure that the reports maintain a consistent look and confirm the reports accuracy with great attention to detail. The incumbent will also work with the CUIMC IT department and those in the Office of Development to assist with the deployment and use of SharePoint within the Office of Development. The incumbent will serve as the department's primary contact for reporting, report training, and SharePoint support.
This position is a temporary 6 month position.
General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or the equivalent in education and experience, plus 3 years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communications, and organizational skills are necessary for this role. The incumbent must have at least 3 years of relevant technical work experience with Microsoft SSRS, Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL, Microsoft Office product suite (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and experience managing reporting projects. The incumbent must work well independently and as a member of the team must be skilled in handling multiple deadline driven assignments. Must demonstrate sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential matters.
Preferred Qualifications: Data manipulation and analytical experience using Excel, and a Business Intelligence application like Tableau Desktop is highly preferred.
