Responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, design requirements, test cases and scripts, test plans, and facilitating user acceptance testing for Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions. The employee will work with other technical team members to deploy solutions based on departmental documentation and testing standards. The Data Analyst I may be assigned project or support activities.
The Data Analyst I assumes tasks of a moderate complexity and difficulty. In addition, the Data Analyst I will be expected to meet with end-users individually with or without direct supervision within the scope of their assigned tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have 2 years of experience in the capacity of a business or data analyst.
Require 2 years of experience in Data Warehousing, ODS, or other reporting environment.
Experience writing SQL queries against relational databases of moderate to high complexity.
Experience with SDLC and/or Agile/SCRUM practices.
Must possess excellent documentation and communication skills.
Document and gather detailed business requirements for data, reporting and business intelligence solutions.
Document and gather detailed data design specifications for data, reporting and business intelligence solutions.
Document and gather detailed functional design specifications for reporting and business intelligence solutions.
Define and document detailed ETL specifications for Data Warehouse interface, extracts, staging areas, atomic areas and mart database environments.
Develop test cases and SQL test scripts based on detail data design, detail functional design and ETL specifications.
Execute QA data and functional test activities. Perform root cause analysis.
Manage the resolution of defects.
Manage the resolution of project and support issues within the scope of assigned tasks.
Own and be fully accountable for assigned support of existing applications including: keeping end-user contact lists up to date, keeping communication SLA's up to date, evaluating and scoping new requests and incidents.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
