This position reports to the Associate Dean of Administration and Finance within the Khoury College of Computer & Information Sciences. Financial responsibilities include projecting the college's revenue and expenses for the University quarterly reports, serving as the college's business intelligence manager for the Concur system, and overseeing the college's purchasing and monthly reconciliation processes. H/she will make recommendations to the Associate Dean relating to projected and actual budget performance for a College with multiple funding sources including operating ($39M), sponsored project ($15M), gift ($3M), endowment, and discretionary accounts. Oversees accounting operations of all funds and ensures that units are spending within projections. Assists the Associate Dean in developing the annual hybrid budget for the college. H/she will also play a role in developing budgets and tracking expenses for the College's growing regional campus population. H/she will also have a solid understanding of HR, financial and research data and will be able to draw correlations between all data sets. H/she will have strong excel skills and knowledge of advanced functions to manipulate and combine data from multiple sources. H/she will have experience using reporting tools such as Cognos in order to extract data from the university's data warehouse. H/she will present data in multiple formats (i.e. charts, tables) to the Associate Dean to assist with analyzing budget-to-actual performance in all areas. H/she would ensure that all data is accurate to facilitate strategic decision making.
H/she will supervise a staff of two: Associate Director of Data Analytics and Budget Coordinator.
Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years' budget experience in a university and/or business setting required. MBA preferred. Advanced excel skills including the ability to combine and manipulate data from multiple sources required. The ideal candidate would have a passion for analyzing and understanding data and would be able to quickly recognize and resolve data discrepancies. Strong communication, supervision, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Experience working with university data and knowledge of Banner, Concur, Cognos and Argos preferred.
