The Senior Analyst position for Global Workplace Solutions acts as a project manager and technical lead for business intelligence projects focused on real estate data analyses for CBRE's clients. Through data warehousing, visualization, and examination, this position helps our clients optimize their operations across all service lines: facilities management, project management, finance, portfolio administration, and transaction management.
The Senior Analyst works closely with our clients and database technical team to automate data collection from source operational systems, aggregate and standardize the information in a data warehouse, and develop Tableau dashboards that leverage the warehouse to generate meaningful client insights.
Additional analyses could include benchmarking facility operating costs, developing predictive analytics for asset maintenance, and integrating data to support capital planning requirements. The Senior Analyst leads projects to collect the requisite client real estate data, build and refine models using CBRE tools, and present meaningful insights in formal reports and briefings.
The ideal candidate possesses a broad skill set including strong technical capabilities with data manipulation and data modeling; advanced Tableau knowledge; extensive project management experience; process improvement skills (Lean Sigma); and strong client-facing communication skills. The candidate must be able to develop productive relationships quickly with CBRE and client leaders. Experience in the real estate services industry is strongly preferred. Experience with real estate and facility management software solutions is a plus (like project management software, work order management software, IWMS systems, CRM solutions, etc.). Strong capabilities with advanced Microsoft suite are preferred including Sharepoint, Microsoft Forms, Teams, etc. Minimum of seven years of experience. Advanced degree not required but preferred. Based in Santa Barbara, CA, this office provides consulting services, cloud and server-based software tools, and statistical indices that solve real estate business problems through robust data analytics. While the work is fast paced and challenging, the environment is casual and flexible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform both technical lead and project manager responsibilities for business intelligence and facility cost analyses projects for a variety of corporate and government clients.
Create, maintain and optimize creative data visualizations and dashboards (primarily in Tableau) to derive actionable intelligence.
Aggregation and analysis of quantitative data; forecast and trending of performance data.
Process mapping and efficiency analysis.
Lead on problem solving team that develops recommendations based on data interpretations.
Provide subject matter expertise on data-related processes and analyses.
Collect key financial and real estate portfolio data from clients for inclusion in cost models.
Develop and refine facility cost models for operating and maintain a real estate portfolio using CBRE proprietary software and other analytical tools.
Prepare formal written reports describing project methodology, scope, key assumptions, and results.
Present progress and results to clients (both in-person and virtually) and collects feedback for revisions.
Miscellaneous technical support for marketing materials, and data support for CBRE software systems.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Master's degree or MBA preferred. Minimum 5+ years of related experience.

DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYTICS
Excellent data management, manipulation, and analysis skills. Ability to create integrated data models from disparate sources. Understanding of relational databases. Highly skilled in dashboard design and development. Advanced Tableau skills are required. Proficiency in database technologies such as Microsoft Access or SQL Server is preferred.

Requires basic knowledge of financial and statistical terms and principles.
