Ohio University's Office of Information Technology is looking for a results-driven candidate with excellent analytical, collaboration and communication skills to join the Information Delivery Team. The Information Delivery Team consolidates and synthesizes data from institutional systems, empowering faculty and staff to make data driven decisions to better fulfill the academic mission of the university.
The successful candidate will be driven to solve problems, achieve high standards of customer service and be able to effectively communicate with a wide audience, including staff within IT, enrollment management, finance, HR, end users, and university leadership. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Solicit, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements. Use situationally appropriate strategies and practices to ensure stakeholder engagement.
Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in a variety of reporting tools. Maintain a deep understanding of application features and capabilities.
Implement solutions that align with requirements, best practices, and the technology ecosystem at Ohio University.
Assist in the evaluation and testing of new or upgraded applications and data model enhancements.
Develop, maintain, and organize documentation and support resources for reporting users. Conduct training on a variety of reporting tools.
Serve as escalation point for application support issues, engaging other technical staff as needed to resolve issues.
Lead the development and adoption of shared data analysis principles, processes, and methodologies. Coach and mentor junior team members on practices and standards.
Learn new applications, technologies, and skills independently through hands-on experimentation. Keep abreast of current reporting technologies and trends. Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and services.
Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant job experience
Experience with at least one commercial reporting or business intelligence application
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Extensive background in analyzing structured data extracted from enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, etc.)
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly
Ability to move forward in ambiguous situations that require new skills and practices
Ability to solicit and document business requirements using techniques appropriate to the audience and environment
Ability to issue clear, concise, and accurate written and oral communications that are audience appropriate
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related discipline
Experience with SQL development on Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases
Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
Experience with R, SPSS, or other statistical analysis software
Extensive background in analyzing structured data extracted from commercial ERP system modules commonly used in the higher education sector, particularly finance, HR, and enrollment management modules.
Experience working in a higher education environment
