Carnegie Mellon University's Registrar's Office is searching for an Information Analyst who will be responsible for assuring a high standard of excellence in student, faculty, and department customer service in support of our mission, strategic goals and values. In this role, you will provide service for the Registrar's Office, Enrollment Services, and others by building replicable data queries and reports, as well as compiling and interpreting analysis of complex statistical data.
You will also produce documentation and reports based on the statistical analyses, and may give oral presentations on the topics. As part of a team, you will participate in the development of procedures for the collection, verification, and management of information and statistical data in various administrative areas of the university.
Core responsibilities will include:
Collect, verify, and reconcile data from a wide variety of sources to support the Student Services Suite (S3); perform statistical analyses of student record data and information, scheduling, organizational and/or planning data using tools such as SQL query, Student Data Warehouse (SDW), Stellic, and the S3. Make recommendations based on these analyses, monitor and ensure compliance with university administrative and academic policies and procedures.
Coordinate information requests from various constituencies, ensure correct specifications, and disseminate data set results. This will include partnering with the Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence on teaching & learning research project data formulation, retrievals, and anonymization.
Manage the Registrar's Office schedule of data queries and reports for various university constituencies for information sharing and departmental coordination and action. Prepare, review, analyze, and summarize reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis within the Registrar's Office; examples include course registration and wait list analyses, student programs, enrollments, and others in support of academic initiatives.
Serve as an application software administrator directing the SDW reporting tool (Pentaho Business Intelligence software). Provide necessary training, troubleshooting, documentation, leadership, and support to staff and department administrators.Manage testing and application upgrades; design and publish standard reports.
Functions as team leader for special projects, including planning out, organizing and distributing assignments to team members.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Information Science, or related field required; combination of training and experience may be considered.
Minimum one year of administrative experience, information analysis, or reporting required; experience in higher education, specifically enrollment services or institutional research preferred.
Knowledge of student privacy standards and practices including the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) highly desired.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
