Background on the position
The Compliance Rules Management Central Team is responsible for establishing the next generation of processes and technology to support regulatory change management activities, an authoritative rule inventory and integration with related processes.
Position Description: The Rules Management Application Support Analyst will join Morgan Stanley's Compliance Rules Management Central Team and will play a critical role supporting the rules management technology application, "Themis", and related technology project implementations. This person will work closely with users of Themis, including personnel within the Legal and Compliance Division, as well as other 2nd line functions, 1st line and Internal Audit.
Tasks/Responsibilities: - Business administration and support for Themis, including: -- Manage a ticket based process for triaging and addressing user issues and questions -- Investigate issues in partnership with IT and end users -- Trouble shoot user/business requests --Maintain reference data - Interface directly with global users to address day-to-day questions related to application functionality - Assist in creating a sustainable user self-service support model for Themis and evolving the model - Assist with system testing - Manage system configuration and entitlements - Assist with helping the users successfully adopt and fully leverage the system - Assist in synthesizing and rationalizing Day 2 requirements, as well as new feature / enhancement requests - Opportunities to get involved in documenting business requirements, use cases, procedures and process flows to a high level of quality and following agreed standards
- Undergraduate degree - 2- 4 years relevant work experience (in any of the following fields: System Organizer, Business Analyst, Product Owner, Business Administration, Level 2-3 support) - Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills; ability to generate creative alternatives to identified issues - Detail oriented with ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize responsibilities and produce results - Interest in, or appreciation for, technology - Strong relationship building skills; ability to develop and foster trust-based relationships with the various business lines supported; ability to influence at all levels without direct authority - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and IT systems generally
Skills Desired: - Experience with data management, VBA automation and SQL is an advantage - Program management and project management experience - Experience with Business Intelligence software such as QlikView or Cognos is an advantage - Project / software development lifecycle knowledge and experience is preferred - Compliance, regulatory and or financial industry experience
