Rutgers,The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Data Anlayst Confidential for the Department of Audit and Advisory Services. This position reports to the Manager of Data Analytics, and under the supervision of the Senior Data Analyst, the Associate Data Analyst Confidential performs analytics activities supporting both the Data Analytics team and the overall Audit and Advisory Services department.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Works as an embedded team member on assigned audits.
Builds and maintains scripts and visualizations for the Continuous Monitoring program.
Provides rapid ad hoc analytics for investigations.
Collaborates closely with both the Senior Data Analyst and Manager of Data Analytics, but may also work independently on small projects.
Supports the execution of any data analytics and visualization tasks during the full life cycle of each project, which may include: data sourcing and blending, query design, analysis of query results, and development of visualizations for incorporation into client deliverables such as audit reports and management dashboards.
Acts as a subject matter expert at data analytics to support audit staff growth and provide knowledge of data sources available at Rutgers.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or related discipline, or Computer Science or a related discipline required.
A minimum of two years’ experience, with some internal/external audit, consulting, or analytics experience. Must include one year of experience with one business intelligence tool (e.g., Alteryx, IDEA, ACL, SAS, R, SPSS, SQL Developer, TOAD, Cognos, Hyperion).

A master's degree is preferred.
Understanding of ERP Systems (Particularly Oracle), and resulting data, including data warehouses with the ability to independently explore and build data sources as needed.
Business acumen (understanding of people, process, accounting, and systems) in concert with building and maintaining a network of relationships throughout the university.
One or more relevant professional certifications (CPA, CIA, ACDA, CFE, PMP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, CSBA, CCBA, IIBA-AAC, etc.)
Relevant experience in a higher-education institution is a plus.
The Associate will be expected to use business intelligence and analytical tools/programming languages such as Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Excel, or similar to query, validate, and present data.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel, when necessary, to sites throughout New Jersey for business demands.
