The Division for Enrollment Management supports core elements of the Mason strategic plan related to enrollment; new student enrollment strategy, retention, and graduation. Purpose of the Position:
The Associate Director of Decision Support provides oversite for the data analytics teams within the Division of Enrollment Management. This supervisory role will provide direction for the team of data analysts as they manage a variety of reporting and analytical needs for the division and the university at large, focused on enrollment related data. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, this position will work in tandem with the supervisor to expand the use of the university developed reporting tools and streamline the process of receiving and executing data related requests for the Division.
Manage the data analytics team within Enrollment Management division;
Use knowledge of business intelligence to lead the data analytics team in creation of a central reporting environment, dashboards, and management-level reports to conduct core business;
Develop strong and effective relationships with academic units, and assist them in development of business intelligence tools to achieve goals;
Expand upon the current working relationship with ITS's Business Intelligence team in an effort to provide a more streamlined development process for our reporting and analytics platforms;
Collaborate with directors within the Enrollment Management division, Institutional Effectiveness & Planning, University Life, and Academic Units to synchronize reporting across these key areas;
Other Duties as assigned.
Master's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
Experience with analytics tools and ability to support the development of predictive models;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including proofreading and editing skills, and an excellent command of the English language and grammar;
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents;
Ability to manage change effectively and build teams to collaborate with university stakeholders;
Must be well-organized and detail-oriented;
Excellent knowledge of basic computer applications and equipment;
Knowledge of and experience using ERP systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft or SAP.
Experience with data visualization tools (Visual Insight, Tableau, etc.);
Experience using statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS, STATA, or R);
Knowledge and experience with CRMs, preferably Salesforce;
Higher education experience.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
