Institutional Research Analyst Holy Names University
The Office of Institutional Research at Holy Names University is seeking an analyst to collect, prepare, analyze, and report institutional data. This position reports to the Director of Institutional Research. This position supports institutional research, assessment, strategic planning, accreditation, and other activities by ensuring data integrity and improving data access and analysis capabilities for administrators, faculty, staff and external entities.
This is a part-time, 20-hour per week position with eligibility for benefits on a pro-rated basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
Ideal candidates will have a thorough familiarity with the academic enterprise within a university and knowledge of key issues and concepts in higher education.
Maintain working knowledge of critical systems and data sources.
Keep current on emerging trends and directions.
Serve on various University, institutional, and governance groups and bodies.
Develop sound data administration protocols related to respective Institutional Research reporting areas.
Serve as the Institutional Research support person for database and analytics development efforts in conjunction with staff from Information Technology Services.
Collect, manipulate, analyze, and report institutional data to internal and external entities on routine and ad hoc basis.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of student and other data to federal, regional, and other external organizations.
Provide data analysis to support grant applications, implementation, and follow-up reports as necessary.
Lead and provide support for the design and/or implementation of institutional surveys, outcomes assessment measures, and other data-collection methods.
Provide data and data analysis to departments to support annual assessment, program review, and accreditation needs.
Maintain detailed records of analysis activities and procedures.
Prepare, compile and analyze qualitative data and assist in the interpretation of the data.
Keep abreast of industry trends through participation in professional development, conferences, and workshops.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, social/behavioral sciences, education or other related field.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
Experience with SPSS, Stata, SAS or other statistical package.
Experience in higher education, institutional research, or assessment preferred.
The ability to prioritize and manage multiple and varied projects and initiatives as well as exemplify highly developed organizational, leadership and project management skills is required.
Knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics.
Working knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques.
Highly detail oriented with strong analytical and planning abilities.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with minimum direction/supervision.
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodology, including survey design.
General knowledge of business intelligence and/or reporting tools such as Qualtrics, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
