Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, Administration and Treasurer (“Treasurer”), the Director of Data Analytics will provide leadership, development, implementation and evaluation of the College’s enrollment management modeling, tuitions and fees pricing, and data needs, data warehouse integration and data communications. This position will exercise considerable discretion and judgement and project management for related activities and requires expertise in data analysis, statistical methods and financial modeling.

Lead the development enrollment model(s) that is integrated to the College’s revenue budget.
Conduct enrollment modeling for growth or changing financial aid strategies.
Provide high-level expertise in data analysis.
Conduct pricing analyses for tuition, housing and other College fees.
Partner with Finance, Admission, Institutional Research, Information Technology and Registrar staff to satisfy college-wide data needs. Collaborate with all teams to identify growth levers and optimization opportunities.
Build, lead, and facilitate the integration of the data warehouse across the institution. Collaborate to identify data gaps and opportunities for improvement in reporting.
Collect, prepare and maintain data in a variety of formats (reports, executive summaries, dashboards, etc.) for senior leadership, the Board of Trustees, the Faculty Executive Committee and other committees as requested.
Promote and develop opportunities to improve business intelligence across the institution with a focus on supporting decision-making and strategic planning. Present complex data and procedures in simple and useful terms to individuals and groups to support buy-in.
Manage projects for data analyses, enhancements or updates, new system integrations and implementations, and related activities.
Prepare and lead clear and concise communications regarding complex data to various constituents, in multiple formats as appropriate (i.e. written, verbal and graphical). Use significant discretion and tact in tailoring communications with consideration for stakeholders, confidentiality and sensitivity to the needs of the target audience.
Assist with the development of department and institutional dashboards and designing reports.
Research, evaluate and recommend protocols and technologies to enhance data collection, quality and usage across the institution. Establish and document best practices for data technologies, tools and processes.
Represent the Office of the Treasurer and the College in internal, consortium and external committees and meetings are requested.
Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position.
Supervisory Responsibility: Will provide functional supervision of staff for projects and special assignments.
Work Hours: This is a full-time, interim position working up to two years. The regular hours for this position are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. These hours may vary due to needs of the College or department. May require occasional evening or weekend work.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess knowledge, skills and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Expert knowledge of data analysis, statistical methods and financial modeling, preferably in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of trend, market and statistical analyses.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to synthesize and translate highly technical data into meaningful, clear and concise information for a variety of audiences.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Superior communications skills in English. Write attention to spelling, grammar, accuracy and the needs of the target audience; articulate a message clearly, concisely and with appropriate tone; and use various mediums of communication effectively (e.g. emails, memos, reports, etc.). Speak clearly, persuasively, professionally and cordially with individuals from multiple constituencies in a diverse and socially aware environment.
Exceptional organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and satisfying expectations, in a complex and results-oriented environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in an academic environment with a diverse community of senior leadership, staff, faculty, students and other stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability. Diplomatic and persuasive in dealing with competing priorities and limited resources. Adapt to changes and manage unexpected delays or events with aplomb.
Demonstrated skills in conducting research, preferably in a higher education setting with respect to admission, enrollment and tuition and fees. Ability and commitment to stay current in financial trends in higher education.
Ability to operate with considerable degree of independence, initiative, and judgment. Strong problem-solving skills, accountability and attention to detail.
Education: Must have a master’s degree in business or applied analytics, data science, statistical analysis or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience: Must have at least five years related experience (preferably in higher education), including some project management experience. Demonstrated experience preparing financial models.
Licenses/Certifications: None required.
Working Environment: Work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. May occasionally work outdoors for events and activities.
Physical Requirements: This is generally a sedentary position. Must be able to:
Sit for prolonged periods of time;
Operate a computer for prolonged periods of time;
Communicate with others by email, in person and over the telephone;
Read printed materials and a computer screen;
Have the mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment;
Assist with the set-up and teardown of event tables, signage and other materials.
Requires reaching overhead, grasping, pulling, pushing, stooping, bending, and twisting;
Lift 15 pounds from the ground to waist level unassisted; and
Have the stamina to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced work environment.
