The Institutional Research Business Intelligence Analyst BI Analyst Intermediate supports campus-wide efforts to create, maintain, and improve a data-driven environment by providing accurate and relevant business intelligence. The IR Analyst collaborates with customers to assure integrity, transparency and availability of data. The Analyst creates and maintains reports using the WebFOCUS enterprise business intelligence tool. Institutional Research Business Intelligence Analyst BI Analyst Intermediate will also be required to:
Complete Federal (IPEDS) and State (HEIDI) compliance reporting
Provides data, information and studies required for assessment of student outcomes, accreditation, enrollment management, program review, student and staff demographics, and other ongoing efforts to measure educational and institutional effectiveness
Collaborates with campus stakeholders on requests for data/information for accreditation, enrollment and other requests.
Collect, analyze, and present data as meaningful information.
Collaborate with customers to improve data quality and consistency.
Maintain data confidentiality and observe all FERPA regulations.
Adhere to official definitions and Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness standards in report development.
Maintain and document all new and existing report specifications.
Present information in a clear, concise and understandable format.
Work closely with customers to gain an understanding of business processes and rules in order to facilitate accurate and manageable reporting.
Develops and implements research projects, including selecting appropriate research designs, collecting and analyzing data, preparing narrative reports and presenting research results to various audiences
Develop queries, reports, and reporting processes to improve the understanding of key University data
Create and maintain reports, charts, HTML objects and business intelligence portals using WebFOCUS.
Interpret data results using a variety of analytical techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex data mining
Contributes to the compliance of Federal and State reporting (IPEDS, CEPI, etc.)
Performs and contributes to external reporting (i.e. Wintergreen, College Board, U.S. News and World report)
Assists in updating common data set annually
Maintains data integrity and process flows in Student Information Systems
Creates ad-hoc internal/external reports for stakeholders
Responsible for improving data & process flows
Meets and coordinates with Institutional Research team to ensure optimization of systems
Other duties as assigned

Minimum 3 years experience in an Institutional Research environment.
Experience working with large relational database management systems.
Experience with Excel, Access, SPSS and other similar analysis and reporting software.
Extensive experience working in an Ellucian environment (preferably Banner).
