Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position is to provide financial, operational, and analytical decision support to the Central Business Office in the School of Medicine. Incumbent must have very strong analytical skills and ability to use data to support appropriate course of action, strong communication and organizational skills. Analyst will be a strategic thinker, comfortable with big data and data analytical systems, who proactively solves problems and independently handles issues. This position will also serve as oversight for certain accounting business processes and in certain instances be an approver or initiator in these processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyst for oversight and owner of certain central University accounting processes, ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting along with timely issue identification and resolution.
Utilize enterprise-reporting systems for business intelligence reporting as well as modeling software to solve complex financial problems.
Manage and manipulate large data sets; thorough knowledge of financial modeling, variance analysis, and common practices used for financial forecasting.
Identify trends, research variances, and present a quantitative and qualitative summary of conclusions and analysis-based recommendations.
Identify and resolve unique data issues which may span multiple areas; apply ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution. Work with business partners to communicate and implement solutions.
Develop and present recurring management reports.
Initiator/approver for certain transactional work.
Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years experience or an equivalent combination of years and experience required.
