Required Qualifications: (As evidenced by an attached resume)
Bachelor's degree (Foreign equivalent or higher degree) and 4 years of experience in revenue cycle management in healthcare administration OR an equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare administration. Experience in healthcare collections, medical/dental billing, coding, financial reporting and reconciliation. Experience working in a diagnostic and treatment center and related State and Federal regulations. Two (2) or more years in supervisory/and hands-on administrative capacity in revenue cycle management. Knowledge of HIPPA regulations. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite. Expertise in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and/or Practice Management Systems/Billing Software.
Three or more years in a supervisory/administrative capacity. CPA/MBA or Master's degree (Foreign equivalent or higher degree) in Healthcare Administration/Policy. Expertise in axiUm software. Knowledge of business intelligent software (e.g., Tableau). Dental/Medical Coding Certification. Experience managing multiple projects.
Brief Description of Duties:
Responsible for leading revenue cycle functions at the School of Dental Medicine Dental Care Center (i.e. Article 28 Diagnostic and Teaching Center) with the implementation of revenue cycle workflow(s) and key performance indicators (i.e. financial and statistical data). Provide strategic leadership, operational support, and training to staff not limited to patient accounts management, financial analysis and accounts reconciliation to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, while maximizing staff efficiency, increasing clinic productivity, and enhancing patient access to care.
Lead the Revenue Cycle Management unit; develop strategies for maximizing collections; and streamline systems and processes.
Work with the Assistant Dean to develop, plan, organize, and implement revenue cycle policies and workflow to achieve operational excellence.
Stay apprised of industry/regulatory trends and best practices to ensure RCM's leadership in revenue cycle management.
Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor the effectiveness of all revenue cycle activities to insure revenue is maximized within regulatory guidelines and assure continuing compliance.
Develop the service practices required to meet the high expectations of the organization.
Collaborate with SDM HR effective cross-functional provider credentialing and enrollment processes.
Responsible for the direction and supervision of the Revenue Cycle team.
Patient Accounts Management
Enhance current strategies on how the RCM bills patients and insurance companies, processes payments, reduce bad debt, increase cash flow, and manage the DCC's production and receivables.
Participate in third party payer negotiations, review contracts with payers, oversee resolution of contract payment issues, and assisting in collection efforts.
Vendor management from sourcing, recommendations, negotiations, implementation, and auditing of contracted pricing arrangements.
Financial Analysis & Accounts Reconciliation
Liaison with the clinic, school, departments, and university on clinical revenue reporting/forecasting.
Reconcile payments on the Electronic Health Records software (axiUm) and the bi-weekly university collections and monthly revenue reports.
Assist in external financial statement audits, insurance audits/inquiries, and internal compliance requests.
Other Duties as requested or assigned.
This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
