Business Intelligence and Data Analyst, Office of Institutional Research and Assessment
The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (http://oira.unc.edu/) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a highly skilled, creative, and accomplished business intelligence and data analytics professional to join its team of research and data analysts whose work supports planning and decision-making across all levels of the University.
Candidates for this position must be highly proficient in building sophisticated analytic dashboards, scorecards, dynamic reports, and other business intelligence applications and objects using data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, R, SAS Visual Analytics, and Microsoft Power BI. The person in this position will be expected to gather information about the consumers' information needs and the questions they wish to answer, identify the best data sources, and determine the most appropriate formats and contents for delivery of this information.
Candidates must have demonstrated outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills, written and oral communication skills, expertise extracting and modeling data from disparate sources, skills in applying data mining and analysis techniques and interpreting the results, and the ability to develop professionalquality data visualizations that provide insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A master's degree in a relevant discipline is required with 1-2 years of closely-related progressive experience or a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 2-4 years of closely-related progressive experience. Candidates for this position must have at least four years of full-time experience developing dashboards, interactive reports, scorecards, and other business intelligence applications.
