Reporting to the Fitch Group CEO, Strategy and Business Intelligence (SBI) provides strategic advice and support to the businesses within the Fitch Group. Using a data-driven approach, SBI is also responsible for analysing the success of strategic initiatives around the firm and supporting M&A activity. Projects are varied and change according to the needs of the business, as directed by the CEO. Underpinning our strategy work is the Business Intelligence platform which consists of numerous dashboards delivering valuable, data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
The team's objectives are as below:
Support the CEO and the senior leadership team in driving the strategic objectives of the company
Increase strategic analysis for the business, particularly relating to the goals of the firm
Support the business units in gaining valuable insights from the Company data via the Group's Business Intelligence platform in order to make better informed decisions and achieve strategic objectives
Internal consulting for Fitch Group business units, based on a data and metric-driven approach
Centralized reporting to support and inform senior management across the Group
Compile and analyse data and research from internal and external sources. Work with senior team members to build clear insights on Fitch's business performance and competitive positioning
Assist senior team members with the development of (and analysis for) business cases and presentations that communicate key findings related to strategy, tactics and change initiatives in a compelling way
Own aspects of monthly and quarterly reporting for senior management
Provide user support for SBI's suite of business intelligence dashboards, including gathering requirements for further development, and providing training sessions
Work with the team to accomplish ad-hoc tasks such as application testing and data requests
Clean large data sets and perform quality checks
Monitor day to day performance of internal applications and processes
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
Good analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience in analysing data sets, organizing results effectively and proposing solutions
Experience in building business cases / presentations that identify important trends and deliver data-driven insights
Strong data visualisation skills, mainly using PowerPoint although knowledge of other data visualisation tools beneficial
Strong written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills / experience of providing training beneficial
Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize different assignments
Solid professional experience ideally related to financial services, credit rating agencies, or the debt capital markets
Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, economics, or similar analytical fields
