The Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) offers an extraordinary learning environment in which teaching, research, and community service come together in the best way possible for the preparation of tomorrow's dental professionals. The IUSD has 665 students, 110 full time faculty, 130 part-time faculty, 224 full time staff and 139 temporary hourly staff.
Develop and implement a process to identify the business intelligence, reporting and data analysis needs for the IUSD.
Additional duties and responsibilities:
Provide design support for the development of business intelligence solutions.
Work with the assistant dean for finance and administration and others to develop and analyze business intelligence needs.
Interpret the business requirements and determine optimal intelligence solutions to meet the needs.
Research business problems and create models that help analyze these business problems.
Design institution-wide reports and data extracts in meaningful formats for decision support.
Produce a variety of reports for internal purposes (e.g. various monthly clinic production and financial reports, organizational monthly financial reports, daily dashboards, purchasing and inventory, accounts receivable, human resources analyses).
Perform systems tasks including design, programming, blending, testing, modification and documentation of new and existing data sources.
Support operations, conduct audits, and ensure integrity of data, records and report views.
Test, define and publish data groups.
Construct and/or maintain documentation of data sources, data definitions, and other metadata for source data environments, as well as data models, reporting databases, and other BI tools and environments built and maintained internally.
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree and three years of experience.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Experience with report building and dashboard design, basic SQL Server knowledge (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), and extensive knowledge of business intelligence tools. Knowledge of relational data models and OLAP cubes. Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to influence others, build and maintain positive relationships. Ability to effectively work with people of different cultures and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Ability to take responsibility for solving problems, making improvements, and delivering quality services with a customer-focused mindset in an environment that fosters understanding, collaborative teamwork and knowledge sharing.
BS/BA degree with an educational focus in computer science, informatics, business, technology, data analytics, statistics, or related field. Knowledge and skills in Microsoft BI stack (SSRS, Excel, PowerPivot) and Tableau.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and work on a computer. Ability to attend meetings in various locations across campus. Regular attendance and compliance with IUSD immunization policy, including annual TB test.
