Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this is a highly visible and high impact position with responsibility for providing insightful analysis and decision support. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for providing insightful analysis as a basis for information dissemination, strategic planning and decision making related to the operational and financial performance of the College. This includes developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations, managing complex data analysis and blending disparate data. The successful candidate will possess the ability to perform in an environment with multiple priorities, work independently, have strong problem-solving abilities, take initiative, assist and lead change management process, innovate, and have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to groups with diverse technical and non-technical backgrounds. Additionally responsible for identification of trends and areas of performance opportunity; assessment of information needs and development of appropriate analytic databases, systems, processes and business intelligence tools; determination of appropriate methodologies; preparation of complex analyses; development of models and forecasts; interpretation of data; development and presentation of recommendations; all that collectively provide thorough decision-support to the senior leaders of the College.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks

Bachelor’s degree; 7-10 years of experience as a financial or business analyst preparing analyses and reports using statistical, operational and financial data; extensive experience with budgeting and accounting systems, processes and procedures; extensive experience with databases and data warehouses; demonstrated ability to create and utilize analytic, forecasting, modeling and business intelligence tools and concepts; demonstrated ability to create and utilize financial model projections and scenarios; excellent analytical skills, including experience with data modeling, spreadsheets and databases; advanced experience with Excel and Access; demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team with individuals at all levels within the college; analyze and resolve operational needs and problems; apply financial, policy and program requirements to system functionality; understand impact of system processes on system performance; read, interpret and apply complex financial rules and technical material; understand relationships among multiple interrelated systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentations of financial and operational data and recommendations.
Master’s degree in business; 7-10 years of experience as a financial analyst in higher education; extensive experience with the Ohio State University budgeting and accounting systems, processes and procedures; experience with PeopleSoft or Workday; experience with Tableau; commensurate experience with query languages such as PL/SQL, MySql and T-SQL, report writers like Crystal Reports or QlikView, and Databases like SQL Server, Oracle and/or MySQL; experience with one or more of the following Query tools/Schema browsers such as Oracle SQL Developer, MySQL Workbench, SQL Server Management Studio & Toad; Hyperion Interactive Reporting, Oracle Business Intelligence and VB.NET; experience in healthcare information systems.
Target Salary: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annually
