The Associate Director/Director Marketing and Sales Technologies position requires a commercial operations leader who possesses strong business acumen, has experience leading pharmaceutical sales professionals, has a relevant experience with marketing and managed markets business processes, has first-hand experience working with pharmaceutical data sources, field force support, field force reporting, as well as a direct working knowledge of commercial technology. This position will be the business owners of 1) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution (Veeva), 2) Field Force Reporting solution (Micro-strategies), 3) Ad Hoc Reporting, 4) Multi-Channel Marketing E-mail Campaign Management (SFMC) and 5) all associated processes and integrations. The Associate Director/Director Marketing and Sales Technologies represents the needs and interests of all Otsukas therapeutic area brand and field teams, serves as a liaison between brand and sales teams and is a partner with Commercial IT and the newly formed Data Office. They are the lead for field and marketing technologies including implementation of new technology capabilities, systematic enhancement and optimization of underlying business processes.
This role also serves as a key stakeholder in data governance efforts and will work collaboratively with the Data Office and OIT to assist in maintaining the integrity and quality of sales enterprise systems and data.
The Associate Director/Director, Marketing and Sales Technologies requires the ability to interact with a variety of internal departments, co-promotion partners and outside vendors across the matrix. Responsibility includes facilitation of business requirements sessions, awareness and evaluation of new CRM technologies with potential commercial applications, vendor management, project planning and leadership, user acceptance testing oversight and overall project management. This position is expected to leverage past sales and sales leadership experience to influence and drive decision making towards tools, technologies and capabilities that enhance and enable the selling experience and customer engagement.
This role will have management responsibility for a team of 5 sales operations professionals.
Serves as business owners of Marketing and Sales Force technologies and represents the needs and interest of all Otsukas therapeutic area brand and field teams. Acts as primary point of contact to the field teams for technology communications and change management efforts.
Conducts frequent meetings and with brand and sales force leadership, collects feedback on the technology, supporting processes and overall effectiveness.
Minimum requirement of 1X monthly field interactions with AMs, DMs, or ROMs
Provides support and works closely with cross functional partners on defining business needs/requirements for marketing and sales technologies
Partners with OIT and the Data Office ensuring optimization of IT support and data availability and accuracy. Partners with IT in the analysis, design and implementation of new CRM applications, enhancements, feature releases and special projects, including defining roadmaps and project plans, project status reports, issue logs, testing plans, training & transition plans, etc. Is a stakeholder in data governance efforts.
May serve as PM/PMO lead, manages tasks, dependencies, issues & risks across Sales Operations initiatives and formal projects, including the coordination with other commercial organizations, OIT, vendors, Co-promoters and other business partners to ensure completion on time and within budget.
Required: BS/BA / MBA or advanced degree preferred Field Sales and preferred Field Sales Management Experience minimum 5 10 years Minimum 10 years of Pharmaceutical industry experience in sales, marketing, managed markets, sales operations, commercial support or information management is required. Experience managing direct reports or teams Experience using or managing pharmaceutical professions who use sales force technology solutions (CRM and Sales Reporting) Strong understanding of current technology. Must have a high level of interest and drive to stay current on new and emerging technologies and customer engagement solutions Proficiency with Business Intelligence solutions (e.g. MicroStrategy, Cognos, Tableau, etc.). Strong working knowledge of and experience with using pharmaceutical data sources as a resource for customer engagement Proficiency with pharmaceutical data integration, aggregation, analysis and reporting. Experience support field sales or marketing management reporting, ad hoc analysis, business planning, problem solving Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation and presentation skills. Strong Innovation and Adaptability: must be able to identify better ways of doing things and getting others involved about improved methods and procedures. Ability to collaborate with key internal stakeholders and various departments is critical for success.
Preferred: Experience supporting Neurosciences, Oncology, Cardio-Renal, Medical Devise therapeutic areas are preferred. Working knowledge of other pharmaceutical industry Customer Relationship Management solutions and tools (e.g. data marts, reporting & analytics tools, campaign management tools, speaker bureau solutions, promotional program management tools, call center solutions, closed loop marketing applications, etc.) is preferred. Experience providing analyses and decision support to pharmaceutical sales and marketing functional areas including sales management, targeting & alignments, incentives & compensation, marketing analytics, managed markets, trade relations, etc. Experience with business process optimization and continuous process improvement methodologies and tools. High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Access (or equivalent), Power Point, Excel, Word and MS Project
