Northwestern University is seeking a temporary full-time Development Assistant for the Chicago campus.
Temporary Job Description:
Coordinates administrative processes and prioritizes, directs, and responds to business matters involving administrative functions associated with the fundraising team. Creates and maintains associated documents, spreadsheets, databases, meetings, special events, etc. and alerts supervisor of critical issues and upcoming events.
Composing correspondence; responsible for mailing list management, compiling, securing approval(s)/signature(s), scanning and documenting final copies, and ensuring timely mailing
Communicating with donors, constituents and university colleagues by phone, e-mail and face-to-face
Assisting with mailings and event support/management (invitations, calling invitees to confirm attendance, etc.)
Supporting management of gift officer portfolios and prospect data
Preparing briefing materials
Entering and retrieving data and lists from the university’s development database, CATracks, as well as the Cognos business intelligence tool
Gathering information and compiling reports
Assisting with calendar management for development officers supported; scheduling, providing meeting support as needed
Compiling accurate and timely expense reimbursement reports
Ordering supplies and other items as requested
As needed, acting as receptionist for the department, providing front desk coverage: answering calls, greeting and directing visitors, and performing front desk administrative tasks
A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Strong writing skills
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
Diligent and can work independently
Experience working with confidential information
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced environment
MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
