The Data Analytics Manager will be responsible for providing decision support to help make value added decisions, developing and maintaining the planning and analytical tools necessary to maximize quality and financial sustainability. The role will entail ownership for forward looking projections, and financial analysis, as well as ad hoc reporting and business performance measurement. The ideal candidate is optimistic, open minded and curious, comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment, and is passionate about the mission of the university.
3+ year’s relevant experience in positions that require data analysis.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics or demonstrable applicable analytical experience required.
Good strategic and tactical business skills and a passion for using data to drive better decision making
Demonstrated understanding of data mining and data analytics.
Self-starter who is able to set priorities consistent with departmental goals and work independently.
Proficient in a reporting software.
Proficiency in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups).
Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment.
Strong financial modeling.
Works well in a team environment.
Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
Capable of investigating, familiarizing, and mastering new data sets quickly.
Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience developing complex models.
Experience in Higher Education.
Experience with large ERP system (PeopleSoft/Oracle/Hyperion) or a comparable planning software preferred.
