The Assistant Director will play a lead role in the clinical departmental funding process, provide project management and analytic support for the Office of the CMO and CBO, and perform high-level financial analysis for other UW Medicine projects. Under the general direction of the Director of Planning and Analysis, Office of Faculty Business Planning, this position will be responsible for day-to-day detailed reporting and analyses needs for the UW Medicine Clinical Departmental Funding Process. The Assistant Director is required to work closely with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and UWP President, UW Medicine Faculty Business Planning Officer, SoM clinical departments, medical center medical directors and executive leadership, and other UW Medicine staff. This position has a wide range of responsibilities such as financial reporting, preparing complex analyses for special projects, and providing operational assessments. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESManage UW Medicine Clinical Departmental Funding ProcessPrimary lead in providing oversight of the Faculty Funding Database (HSD) and management of any programming changes.Primary lead during annual budgeting process and collaborates with clinical departments, UWP, SoM IT team during annual clinical departmental budgeting process.Responsible for tracking and reporting on any funding and adjustments to the departmental funding agreements.Responsible for reviewing departmental clinical departmental funding requests for accuracy and performing appropriate analyses of requests, as appropriate.Provide project management and analytic support for the Office of the CMO, including for the Associate CMO and Medical Director of Value Based Care.Primary lead in managing Clinical Full-Time Equivalence (CFTE) reporting to internal stakeholders and CPSC (Clinical Practice Solutions Center).Responsible for providing data/reports related to clinical departmental funding to UW Medicine Faculty Business Planning Office, Office of the CMO, SoM, medical centers, and department contacts.Financial Analysis and ReportingDesign, develop, and manage financial tracking, and reporting systems.Develops and provides comprehensive, as well as targeted and specific, financial analyses and reporting for decision-making.Oversee the continuous improvement of processes and systems to meet the evolving needs of the organization.Respond to ad hoc data requests.Perform other related duties as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIESExhibits a professional work ethic.Demonstrates personal integrity and trustworthiness.Precision and thoroughness of approach in all tasks. Flexibility, multi-tasking ability, strong interpersonal skills, detail-oriented and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with multiple interruptions.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious work in an academic medical center.Understanding of compliance issues in healthcare environment.Working knowledge of enterprise-wide relational databases, multi-dimensional cubes, scripting languages, SQL server (including SQL Server Analysis Services), and Business Intelligence reporting tools. Familiarity with a variety of UW and UWP systems and policies (BOE, Workday, MyFD, UWHires, EDW & Financial Cubes).
