Set and execute the Enterprise Applications (EA) strategy and vision and for leading the day-to-day operations of the EA development team, working with the Director of Enterprise Applications. Develop software integration solutions as well as oversee all EA development project and tasks. Serve as a champion and advocate for the strategic use of campus applications and integrations, and the people, processes, and technology needed to support a unified, non-siloed environment at Denison. Build a high-performing team and promoting a culture of collaboration, transparency, empathy, innovation, and accountability within ITS.
Essential Job Functions:
*Manage Enterprise Applications programmer-analyst staff, including full-time PAs, and student assistants, including professional development, workloads, and prioritization. *Interface and coordinate with other ITS managers, specifically those within the EA division. *Manage EA Project portfolio and lead major initiatives.
*Alongside the Director of Enterprise Applications and other functional managers within EA, help to develop strategy for the Enterprise Applications team that fulfills the vision of both the University goals and ITS goals. *Keep knowledge current in adopted and new relevant technologies, inform Directors of important developments, and make recommendations regarding opportunities for implementation. *Provide regular feedback to the Director of Enterprise Applications and promote continuous process improvement, proactive service, and relationship building.
*Analyze and identify user needs and develop and implement effective solutions to meet user requirements. *Maintain current knowledge of the features of Enterprise software and Denison modifications, and evaluate user needs in relation to the features provided in the current Denison software set to be able to recommend features and identify gaps requiring other software.
Software Development and Maintenance:
*Responsible for designing effective solutions that may be based on either purchased software or Denison developed software. *Develop administrative applications and identify areas amenable for system enhancements; design, write, test, and document new applications and features; develop database triggers, functions, and procedures as needed, and implement purchased solutions where appropriate. *Maintain software functionality: provide database maintenance; install, test, and implement vendor upgrades and patches in conjunction with the supported user community; maintain Denison modifications.
*Develop and maintain the back-end processes to support the continuous development of reports and dashboards for the institutional reporting environment. *Support products using business intelligence concepts of data models (Ellucian's ODS), enhanced query capabilities, dashboards, and performance metrics.
*Troubleshoot user issues with Enterprise applications, reconcile users' data and processing problems and coordinate inter-office projects and data dependency issues. *Resolve issues to the satisfaction of the requestor.
Performs related work as required or assigned.
Bachelor's degree, preferably related to information technology. An Associate degree with additional experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. Must be familiar with database concepts, SQL, and online software applications. 5 years of software development experience including project leadership. Experience and conceptual understanding of the project life cycle process.
Ability to handle multiple tasks under the pressure of tight deadlines; ability to work and learn independently; good communication skills; apply sound project management processes toward all tasks; display initiative and self- motivation.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience with higher-ed ERP solutions: (Ellucian's Banner, Datatel or PowerCampus; PeopleSoft, or WorkDay). Two years of work related experience with SQL and PL/SQL. Experience with IBM Cognos, Ellucian/Banner software, data warehousing, Linux, and Oracle technologies. Banner security experience is preferred. At least one year of supervisory experience. Significant functional Banner experience.
