The candidate will be responsible for supporting pharmacy analytics and related project efforts as prioritized by senior leadership of our OHSU Health pharmacy organization. These deliverables will include new development and enhancements to a pharmacy data warehouse, pharmacy benefits management operational data store, ad hoc reports, dashboards, visualizations, and scorecards.This position will play a variety of roles in support of the OHSU Health pharmacy organization including technical implementations, project organization, business analysis, and team coordination, communication and support. The candidate will work closely with OHSU Health pharmacy business leadership, IT staff, and project managers throughout the course of the solution development lifecycle.
The candidate will be responsible for technical implementations of OHSU Health pharmacy business intelligence assets. Activities shall include, but not be limited to, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining BI solutions. Specific tools use includes SAP BusinessObjects & Tableau for reports, visualizations, and analytics and ETL development using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to process Epic Clarity/Caboodle data and integrate other clinical data to meet analytical and operational requirements. The candidate will be required to have working knowledge of Microsoft T-SQL. A successful candidate will be knowledgeable in data warehousing key concepts and CDC techniques, having experience creating star schema reporting data structures, including facts, dimensions, aggregates, slowly-changing dimension, and bridge tables. Preferred candidates will have experience with source to target mapping, data profiling, validation testing, and ER studio. Duties may also extend to developing metadata models (Universes) in Business Objects Information Design Tool.
The candidate will lead or otherwise participate in project initiatives on behalf of the OHSU Health pharmacy informatics group. The candidate will perform project activities such as service request intake, prioritization, project and task scoping and estimating, task status update reporting, maintaining up-to-date project documentation, and creation of operational support documents.
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field and eight years of work related experience in the information technology field; OR
Associates degree in computer science or related field and nine years of work related experience in the information technology field; OR
Ten years work related experience in the information technology field; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substitution for an Associates degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelors degree.
Minimum of two years of paid work experience as an Application Engineer (or equivalent classification) using an Enterprise BI tool (e.g. BusinessObjects, Cognos, Tableau)
Minimum two years of paid work experience with using an enterprise ETL tool (SSIS, DataStage, Informatica)
Minimum of five years of experience with SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL)
Minimum of two years of experience working with healthcare data.
Experience with facilitating and documenting system requirements sessions
Experience creating technical documentation of reports and data/report models
Minimum three years working with relational databases
Job related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of data warehousing architecture and dimensional modeling concepts.
Ability to read, write and maintain SQL code at an advanced skill level. In both SQL Server and Oracle environments.
Proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures
Ability to read and explain a data model
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
Experience planning and managing small projects
