Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Auditor (Senior) for Audit and Advisory Services. Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics, the Senior takes a lead role on the data analytics team, including coaching other auditors and the Associate Analytics Auditor on all aspects of audit analytics.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Developing and implementing the framework and unit components for a Continuous Monitoring program
Actively supporting the work of Audit and Advisory Services and enabling university units to make data-informed decisions
Works as an embedded team member on assigned audits, and also sometimes works independently or in coordination with clients, based on the scope and nature of the data analytics component of the project
The Senior drives the execution of any data analytics and visualization tasks during the full life cycle of each project, which may include: - Data sourcing and blending - Query design; Analysis of query results - Development of visualizations for incorporation into client deliverables such as audit reports and management dashboards. - Acts as a subject matter expert to expand data analytics proficiency and usage by audit staff and facilitate continuous monitoring in university units.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline, or Computer Science or a related discipline required.
A minimum of five (5) years' related professional experience, which must include the following: - A minimum of two (2) years' experience in internal audit, external audit, consulting, or data analytics - A minimum of two (2) years' experience with at least one business intelligence tool required (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, IDEA, ACL, SAS, R, SPSS, SQL Developer, TOAD, Cognos, Hyperion or similar – this list is not exhaustive and applicants who feel their experience with similar tools would transfer to Alteryx or Tableau are encouraged to apply).

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel, when necessary, to sites throughout New Jersey for business demands.
A master's degree is preferred.
Understanding of ERP Systems (Particularly Oracle), and resulting data, including data warehouses with the ability to independently explore and build data sources as needed.
Business acumen (understanding of people, process, accounting, and systems) in concert with building and maintaining a network of relationships throughout the university.
One or more relevant professional certifications (CPA, CIA, Tableau Desktop certified, ACDA, CFE, PMP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, CSBA, CCBA, IIBA-AAC, etc.)
Relevant experience in a higher-education institution and/or healthcare setting is a plus.
The Senior will be expected to use Alteryx and Tableau software regularly to perform the role. 80% or more of the role will require those two packages.
