Ares Management is seeking a Senior Associate for our Public Credit Group Accounting team.
The Senior Associate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and oversight of multiple funds and assist with management of an external fund administrative team. Fund structures may include commingled equity and debt closed-ended funds, joint ventures and separate accounts.
Reports to: Associate Vice President, Public Credit Group
Day-to-day oversight of two publicly traded Regulated Investment Companies including, but not limited to:
Assist in managing relationships and liaising with internal resources, offshore resources, fund administrators and auditors to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines
High level of interaction across the organization, including communications with tax, operations, investor relations, financial reporting and portfolio management
Work closely with operations and other groups in managing daily cash and position breaks
Review reporting to investors and internal constituents (portfolio managers, investor relations)
Oversee and review daily NAV packages from the fund administrator
Review of NQ, NCSRS and NCSR reporting for the funds
Review of monthly NPORT reporting
Provide management company with data for quarterly SEC filings
Provide compliance reporting (Form PF, ADV, etc.)
Participate in firm initiatives and team specific projects for process improvements
Track and co-ordinate expense payments for the funds, including management fees and shareholder service fees
Preparation of quarterly materials for board of directors
3+ years of relevant professional experience (preferred)
Public accounting experience, Big 4 (preferred)
Experience with bank debt
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment
Ability to assist in managing multiple third-party relationships
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
Strong verbal and written skills; ability to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writing
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and manage various deadlines
Power BI, Tableau or other business intelligence tools a plus
