Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for University Ethics and Compliance. This position reports to the AVP of Compliance (AVP), and supports the AVP in developing and implementing the framework and unit components for a Continuous Monitoring program, as well as actively supporting the work of University Ethics and Compliance (UEC), in ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of the university's compliance program.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Works with other team members on assigned engagements, and also sometimes works independently or in coordination with university units, based on the scope and nature of the data analytics component of the project.
In performing the analyst role, the Administrator supports the manager in the execution of any data analytics and visualization tasks during the full life-cycle of each project, which may include: data sourcing and blending, query design, analysis of query results, and development of visualizations for incorporation into client deliverable such as compliance reports and management dashboards.
Directly supports the AVP of Compliance in reviewing and preparing, analyzing, and reporting, all departmental fiscal financial reports.
Conducts financial analyses related to internal investigations and interacts with the Office of General Counsel, Office of Labor Relations, Office of Academic Labor Relations and Office of Employment Equity, in order to assist investigators in conducting independent and impartial investigations of aligned and non-aligned employees.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline, or Computer Science or a related discipline required.
A minimum of 5 years' professional post graduate experience, of which must include:
1 year experience in any of compliance, internal audit, external audit, consulting, or data analytics.
1 year experience preparing, analyzing, and reporting financial transactions.
1 year of experience in a higher education institution.

Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
A master's degree is preferred.
1 year experience with at least one business intelligence tool required (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, IDEA, ACL, SAS, R, SPSS, SQL Developer, TOAD, Cognos, Hyperion or similar – this list is not exhaustive and applicants who feel their experience with similar tools would transfer to Alteryx or Tableau are encouraged to apply)
Understanding of ERP Systems (Particularly Oracle), and resulting data, including data warehouses with the ability to independently explore and build data sources as needed.
Business acumen (understanding of people, process, accounting, and systems) in concert with building and maintaining a network of relationships throughout the university.
Relevant experience in a higher-education institution and/or healthcare setting is a plus
The Administrator will be expected to use Alteryx and Tableau software regularly to perform the role.
