DIRECTOR OF DATA , edX , to evolve edX data strategy to be best-in-class and champion its data vision and roadmap. Will work with each edX function to enable financial reporting, develop actionable insights that improve marketing effectiveness, inform product design, and improve partner and learner outcomes. Responsibilities include leading the edX data vision across the enterprise and enabling a high performing team; establishing, prioritizing, and stewarding edX's data roadmap; collaborating with each edX function to understand how data will better inform decision-making; working cross-functionally to ensure appropriate data governance, prioritize projects, automate key reports, and determine success metrics; working with the product, educational services, and marketing teams to create ad hoc reports, models, analysis, dashboards, and business recommendations; presenting weekly progress on data performance organization-wide; managing the day-to-day work and career development for a team of BI engineers, data analysts, and data scientists; and partnering with engineering to build out scalable data infrastructure, including warehousing, integration tools, and reporting systems.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : eight years' data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics position; experience leading and managing a business intelligence team and creating successful organizational structures; experience managing a data engineering team to build the right tools, automation, and capabilities to enable data-informed decision-making; strong presentation skills; ability to clearly communicate results to stakeholders at all levels, tackle ambiguous problems, execute analysis, prioritize work, and deliver projects on time; and experience implementing business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Looker. PREFERRED : experience in website analytics and A/B testing, e.g., with Google Analytics or Optimizely; and a degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, statistics, economics, and/or operations research.
