The Gene Therapy Program (GTP) is entering a new era of unprecedented opportunity with the great potential to reshape the face of medicine as we know it. Our discoveries have set the stage for successful treatments and possibly even cures for devastating genetic diseases.
The laboratory of Dr. Jim Wilson, at GTP of the University of Pennsylvania, has been a leader in the development of innovative vector technology for close to three decades. We have emerged as the âœgo-toâ organization for public and private partners, who want to participate in the gene therapy space. Currently, we are positioned to lead another round of vector innovation and establish pre-clinical and clinical proof-of-concept in therapeutic applications of in-vivo genome editing.
Continuation of all GTP positions is contingent upon grant funding.
Due to continued growth of our program, we are searching for a new Business Analyst to support the GTP Strategy and Business operations team.
As a Business Analyst, you will perform the following:
Lead both scientific and business related desk-research in support of various GTP initiatives.
Competitive Intelligence: Day to day assessment of relevant scientific literature and business intelligence resources (including analyst reports) and drafting Â regular synopsis updates for the the Strategy and Business Operations team and the GTP Executive Team.
Support Alliance Management and Project Management in preparation of material required for all Joint Steering Committee (JSC) and Joint Research and Development Committee (JRDC) meetings with GTP collaboration partners
Work with the Alliance Management team to fulfill all reporting obligations associated with the Discovery Research Program, includes interfacing with GTP scientists, drafting and editing reports and presentations. Â
Provide general project management support as requested from time to time by the GTP Project Management team
Lead specific research projects as may be requested by the Director of the Gene Therapy Program
Bachelor Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related major and 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
M.S. in life science discipline strongly preferred. A neuroscience background is a plus
Understanding of drug discovery and development, in particular at the research/early development stage
Strong communication skills, well-developed attention to detail and proven track record as a contributing member of a project team
Sincere desire to contribute to advancing the field of genetic therapies
