We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Business Systems Analyst to help establish and scope large-scale project requests from our partners. You will function as a capable member of the Web & Apps team, working in close collaboration with our Project Management Office. You will report to the Web and Applications Manager. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will document workflows and business processes through the creation of process maps, capturing all desired states while identifying gaps in process, people, or technology. You will have a variety of knowledge across applications and technology services and platforms to be understand where and how technology can be applied to solve our problems. You will create concise and precise documentation around business and technical requirements, contribute to the development of large-scale project plans, timelines, and supporting documentation. You will also mentor and advise less experienced Systems Analysts. You love getting to know the capabilities of team members to develop simple, scalable, sustainable, secure, and supportable solutions.
Perform Business Analysis, System Improvement and Consulting, and participate in Project Management while working on diverse projects that span multiple domains. Some characteristic responsibilities include:
Elicit, document, analyze, and validate requirements from partners related to large unit or division-wide technical endeavors.
Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection processes, regulatory requirements, and reporting requirements to translate requirements into data/technical specifications.
Analyze current state, conceive the desired future state and identify projects needed to implement future goals.
Work with business process owners to develop essential measures that establish department metrics.
Ask the right questions and “read between the lines” when gathering user requirements to determine actual needs rather than just what is communicated.
Recommend procedures that, enhance usability, increase productivity, and provide a better user experience.
Analyze the effectiveness of existing processes and develop sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements.
Collaborate with unit partners to develop pilots and test plans to ensure that a product or system meets design specifications, security, and other requirements.
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related filed or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Minimum five years experience performing business/workflow analysis, developing detailed functional requirements, creating scope documents, or standardizing operating procedures.Minimum five years experience writing or conducting User Acceptance testing. Previously worked as a business, systems, applications, or programmer analyst. Experience analyzing unfamiliar processes and performing root cause analysis to identify problems and opportunities. Experience critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources to distinguish user requests from the underlying true user needs. Experience learning new technology or software, understanding technical information, and communicating it to others using concise, and user-friendly language.
You will stand out from others if you have a proficiency in project management tasks including creating deliverables such as project scope and plan, status reports, cost estimates, communication plan, presentations, risk management plan, milestone/project schedules.
