We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to work in the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research to develop and maintain a research data analytics platform, provide business intelligence support, and enhance the value of existing data management systems for understanding the university's research enterprise.
Duties include developing and implementing programs and processes to curate and analyze large datasets; writing queries for extracting data from university enterprise data systems; ingesting external data about research performance; preparing static reports with both tabular and graphical presentations as well as web-based active reports; and developing research analytics models.
The candidate will be responsible for the needs assessment, analysis, design, testing, documentation, and continual monitoring. Candidate must have experience working within a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
The incumbent must have experience with Python, R, graphing and visualization software, web scraping and natural language processing.
Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Business Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field required; doctoral degree preferred. Five years of experience in data analysis, database management, business intelligence, or information technology, or some combination of related experience and graduate education required. Must also have three to five years' experience with Python, R, graphing and visualization software, web scraping, and natural language processing. Experience working in an academic setting and experience working with federal research agency data preferred.
