UMKC's Office of Registration and Records is seeking qualified applicants for a Data Analyst position. This position will be the Pathway/PeopleSoft functional lead, which includes but not limited to coordinating testing and training of new system functionality, running large scale daily processing such as grade posting, academic action, term activation, academic calendar setup, and batch processing along with creating and maintaining end user documentation. Develops and applies expert knowledge of Pathway SIS functionality, associated third-party applications, and data flows to support the Registration and Records Office's efforts to improve student services and integrate new functionality and applications. This position will serve as a back up to the Registrar at meetings related to Pathway and other software/technical conversations related to Pathway and third-party software. Oversee business process implementation and improvement technology managed out of the Registration and Records Office. Assisting the Registrar with data integrity edits to ensure accurate reporting for Census and external reporting to EMSAS and IPEDS. Manage the business process to request security to Pathway and other department related software to ensure appropriate access it granted based on users job responsibilities.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Peoplesoft student functional lead - coordinating system testing for PUM's and upgrades, training new users, troubleshoot problems within the student records system, resolving cross-functional issues between the Cashiers Office, Admissions, Financial Aid, and any others that consume data from PeopleSoft.
Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the student and faculty self-service center in (Pathway) including testing and implementing new functionality for PeopleSoft, College Scheduler, and other future third-party systems.
Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our enrollment file that is submitted monthly to the National Student Clearing house for enrollment reporting.
Census processing and edits. Running edits, sending out files, and working with users in correct data for Census, EMSAS, and IPEDS reporting.
Responsible for technical needs of the Registration and Records Office in collaboration with the Data Systems and Applications Services team and Office of Institutional Research to write queries out of Pathway for reporting needs.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
* Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software and equipment * Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor * Minimum of five or more years of progressive experience working in a university, student services, or administrative setting. * Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated proficiency with a variety of desktop applications; demonstrated ability or experience in data and/or business process analysis, statistical reporting, or using business intelligence software. * Experience working in higher education administration and/or a University Registrar's Office and with an ERP student information system, preferably PeopleSoft. * Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically about complex organizational issues and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
