The New School's Business Intelligence team is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys architecting and delivering thoughtful business intelligence solutions which support data-driven decision making. They are also extremely detail-oriented and skilled at interrogating disparate and diverse data sets.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and capture functional requirements; translate requirements into technical solutions. - Build integrations and ETL packages (SSIS) into our data warehouse from a wide variety of source relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle) - Create SQL-based data sources, visual dashboards and reports in Tableau. - Perform Tableau server maintenance, user\group management, content moderation and troubleshooting. - Engage with Tableau developer partners across the University on best practices and new functionality.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, science or engineering related field. - Demonstrated ability to learn and understand data structures in large, complex organizations. - 2+ years experience creating Tableau dashboards and SQL-based data sources. - 3+ years experience writing SQL - Experience creating ETL packages - Understanding of dimensional data warehouse concepts - Ability to develop prototypes from business requirements which bring simplicity and context to complex designs - Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Experience using Python - Data modeling experience - Experience with graphic design - advanced Workday report-writing experience - Experience extracting data from Workday.
