The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Data Analyst to analyze fundraising results from multiple perspectives and with statistical
Rigor. Will also: (i) examine inputs, consider variables and develop explanations as to how outcomes were achieved; (ii) leverage data visualization and business intelligence tools as well as write code using multiple programming languages to develop insights, and communicate these to various stakeholders throughout the organization to facilitate better, more effective fundraising decision making; (iii) work with end users and domain experts to understand software and data requirements; (iv) develop and maintain key segmentation tool using data from the patient fundraising warehouse; (v) provide formal and informal training and consulting to end users on the functionality and use of developed applications and resolve inquiries about data integrity and consistency; (vi) maintain accurate and detailed records of all coding and use cases; and (vii) develop models that identify trends, reveal opportunities and increase the efficiency of fundraising programs, using quantitative methods and software tools that will produce effective recommendations for fundraising success.
Must also have any experience with or knowledge of: SQL programming language; developing, refining, and maintaining statistical models as well as drawing data from multiple outside sources; data transformation tools (ETL) such as Informatica; providing professional training on reporting technologies; and authoring and maintaining enterprise-wide reporting systems using business intelligence tools and reporting technologies such as Cognos BI, Actuate and Crystal Reports.
