Job Description Moody's Shared Services (MSS) Planning team has an opening for a Sr. Financial Analyst. This position will work closely with the VP - FP&A in New York to better develop consolidated analysis and reporting that will help our senior stakeholders better understand their results. The position will also work closely with team members to evaluate and develop more interactive reporting solutions, while looking for areas of efficiency in our processes to reduce manual work.
Prepare consolidated Moody's Shared Services (MSS) Expense and Compensation / Headcount Reporting and Analysis, developing coherent messaging that will provide senior stakeholders with a clear picture of their results
Prepare consolidated headcount reporting for actual, budget and forecast periods for MSS financial reviews.
Provide / present analysis of budget / forecast variances during the monthly closing process and act on results.
Assist in the development of interactive dashboard reporting, with the goal of enhancing stakeholder experience while reducing manual work across the team
Participate and assist in special projects as assigned by management.
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Financial Engineering
Minimum 3 years of relevant financial experience with planning and analysis processes preferred
Solid understanding of accounting and financial statement reporting and analysis
Must be able to handle large amounts of data
Superior PC skills - Windows Environment (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
Exposure to multi-dimensional reporting applications (Hyperion/Essbase a plus).
PowerBI / Python experience a plus
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate with Senior level stakeholders. Should be detail oriented, but able to summarize and communicate findings/analysis.
Ability to develop interactive dashboards or financial models using macros or business intelligence tools
Ability to understand team processes, and experience creating efficiencies / automation opportunities.
Positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
