Bytemark is seeking to hire an experienced Commercial Project Manager to support our team in New York, NY or Austin, TX. In this role, you will have the responsibility for the financial success of contracts in close cooperation with the project management team as well as financial monitoring and reporting.
The Commercial Project Manager will report to the CFO. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, Risk & Opportunity reporting, ensuring timely and accurate customer billings, forecasting project financials and monthly closing of project financial results. Additional duties may include day-to-day accounting, account reconciliation, financial reports and other tasks as assigned.
Project cost controlling which includes reporting current, accurate and complete margin information. Ensure that financial data is in line with internal and external regulations and guidelines such as Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines or US GAAP.
Project forecasting which includes, but is not limited to, providing transparent and reliable financial data (e.g. order intake, revenue, costs, billings, payments) and projection of sales pipeline.
Continuous monitoring of projects in terms of cost (labor hours, internal and external suppliers), billings and Gross Margin performance against plan.
Continuous coordination with the Project Team, Vendors & Suppliers, Product Management & Development Teams in joint responsibility with the Project Manager.
Support collections of outstanding Accounts Receivable, identify risks and claim strategies and work with project management to continuously improve contract performance.
Manages invoices and claims for billing accuracy and ensure proper supporting documents are provided timely and accurately.
Manages project specific procurement with Vendors & Suppliers. Identifies delay in delivery or quality issues in an early stage and works with Project Manager to resolve.
Preparation of monthly performance review meetings with senior management.
Support with cost calculations and procurement activities such as contract and price negotiations with 3rd party Vendors & Suppliers.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience in managing projects and/or project procurement at a commercial or financial level.
Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to work efficient and multi-task among competing priorities
Experience with QuickBooks is preferred but not required
MS Office required - strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint (Think-Cell experience is an advantage).
Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) tools for data integration and analyses is an advantage (for example Alteryx, KNIME).
Experience with BI (Business Intelligence) and Dashboard tools is an advantage (for example Sisense).
Strong communication skills - verbal & written.
