Geisinger's Steele Institute for Health Innovation serves as the innovation “hub” for Geisinger. The Institute provides a nontraditional environment where bold, out-of-the-box thinking can flourish and where pioneering innovators can explore, define and disseminate new models of healthcare.The Clinical Informatics Analyst Senior is a multi-faceted position that is responsible for clinical business intelligence and decision support development, predictive model development, and ETL development and deployment. The Clinical Informatics Analyst Senior works with the clinical team to gather, understand and document current workflows and processes as well as national recommendations for best practice specific to all clinical subspecialties. The Clinical Informatics Analyst Senior will utilize existing data sources in conjunction with new discrete data capture and predictive modeling output to develop ETL processes that allow the Steele Institute to maintain accurate clinical data assets used to support applications built to facilitate quality, efficient patient care.
Strategically considers all potential uses for available data, and how to transform disparate data into a useful data. Conducts independent quantitative operational, clinical and financial analysis (using statistical methods where appropriate) with clearly summarized findings and recommendations for technical/clinical and non-technical/clinical audiences. Ensures accuracy, data integrity and validity of data/analysis in all work. When appropriate, translates project specific analysis into ongoing, automated reporting tools including specification preparation, design, testing, validation, analysis and merging data from various source systems. Participates in the development, implementation, and enforcement of data management standards and procedures. Maintains current knowledge on most up to date data transformation and data management technologies through self-training, organizational training, and attending conferences where necessary. Supports machine learning and artificial intelligence initiatives by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to implement this technology across the system. Proactively identifies potential outcome analysis, goals of intervention, and basic evaluation structure in the planning phases of innovation endeavors. Provides guidance, feedback, and input in the development of protocols and research proposals for Innovation evaluation. Works closely with Geisinger research, innovations, and healthcare re-engineering teams (including Project Managers, Biostatisticians, Analysts, etc.) to evaluate Innovation initiatives and projects. Works closely with all levels of staff, customers and improvement teams to determine analytic needs and requirements; independently develops quantitative approaches (drawing on a range of methodologies) to identify opportunities for performance improvement. Proactively educates the requester of any complexities associated with the data requests. Participate as a collaborator during start-up and coordination of development initiatives. May involve resources within or external to Geisinger to guide initiatives. Participate in the prioritization and direction of all Health Innovation projects. Work directly with the AVP, Product Innovation and the Lead Clinical Informatics Analyst to manage and monitor projects and progress. Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree-Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Science (Required), Master's Degree-Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Science (Preferred)
Minimum of 4 years-Healthcare (Required), Minimum of 2 years-Information Technology (Required)
