The Epic ETL Developer Specialist is responsible for architecting, developing, innovating, testing, and supporting Database Management Systems, data warehouses, and deploying Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes for technical solutions for Epic and other related applications/technologies, as they relate to the current and future business environment. The position is a seasoned information technology professional and an expert in mapping of data from source systems, restructuring and redefining it as necessary to clarify and maximize its information content, then integrating the data into a cross-functional view and populating target systems. Has a thorough understanding of data warehousing, operational data store, and data modeling concepts, providing leadership in programming and technical development of data transformation solutions. This position mentors and trains less experienced staff. This position is seen as a leader in the IT community. The Epic ETL Developer Specialist architects and delivers ETL solutions across legacy, newly developed, and purchased environments. Skills sets for an Epic ETL Developer Specialist include Epic Clarity and Caboodle Administration, Epic Caboodle and Clarity Data Models, SSIS, T-SQL, C#, Power Query and other technology languages.
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems preferred.
7 or more years work experience as a Programmer, Technical or Systems Analyst, relational database programming or relational database administration.
Experience with business intelligence tools: Microsoft Visual Studio.
Experience programming in SQL, C# and/or equivalent programming languages.
Experience with Business Intelligence development lifecycle.
Knowledge of designing and planning ETL solutions, and debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting ETL solutions.
Knowledge of relational and dimensional modeling.
Experience creating SSIS packages.
Experience writing and optimizing relational and multidimensional database queries.
Experience with data warehousing.
Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, verification and methodology development.
The ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both a technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required.
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and able to exercise independent judgment and take action.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.

Epic certification is required within six (6) months from employment including 1 test retake.
Microsoft SQL certification a plus.
